Living and working in a remote area on the southeast coast of Iceland, where I come from. After graduating from Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and moving home, I focus on regionally based material. The conscious decision to move to the country side of Iceland has formed my relationship with the creative process. My works have been ranging from sculptural objects, found things, to installations, sound pieces, performances and printed matter. They deal with memory, time and meaning of knowledge as well as /or human outlook on life. “On a responsibility to remain defenseless”, are words from Snejanka´s Mihaylova´s Acoustic Thoughts. I think of her phrase as a reminder about being humble towards what is called knowledge, which seems to be a form of recognition of something that already is, but appears in the human mind through a body in a leap of faith -
